Scuba Training
Dive To Learn Program:
Take it to the Next Level

A Scuba Frisco Sports Exclusive
Featuring Free Advanced Open Water Diver and Master Scuba Diver Certifications

What brought you to our door when you decided to learn how to dive? Was it the desire to learn how to clear the water out of your mask, or to remove and replace your weight system underwater?

Of course it wasn’t.

If you are like 99% of us you probably had a trip planned. You may have wanted to go see the cool fish and coral reef. You may have wanted to dive on a shipwreck, or take pictures of the critters you encounter. Instead we taught you all those skills that keep you alive underwater.

You now have a license to learn.
Now that you are certified you can get the knowledge and experience to pursue the areas of your interest, and with our new Dive to Learn Program you can customize your training to meet your budget and your schedule. YOU are in charge of your training, not Scuba Frisco Sports’ training calendar.

You pick the subject and when you want to do it.
Between the months of May and September we go to the lake every weekend. This means you can come out to the lake on any given weekend and do from one to six training dives on virtually any subject(s) in our vast menu of classes. All you have to do is  let us know at least two weeks in advance so we can be sure that everything is set for you.

You decide how to proceed with your scuba education.
You can do Specialty courses or you can do the Advanced Open Water program. The neat thing about PADI continued education courses is that the dives in the Advanced Open Water course count as the first dive in the corresponding Specialty course, Conversely, if you take a Specialty course you automatically have the first dive done for credit towards Advanced Open Water certification.

Get your Advanced Open Water Certification for Free.
Earn at least 5 Specialty certifications that have open water dive requirements, and as long as you do Underwater Navigation and Deep Diver specialties, which are required topics for Advanced Open Water (or do at least the first dive from these two specialties), and purchase the PADI Adventures in Diving Manual (or DVD) with Deluxe Data Carrier Slate, we will give you the Advanced Open Water certification for free.

Take the Rescue Diver Course and earn 5 Specialty Certifications, and we will give you the Master Scuba Diver Certification for free.

This is the Black Belt of diving. Master Scuba Diver Certification recognizes that the person meeting the requirements has done much more training and is more experienced than the average diver. It is the highest level of certification on the sport diver side of the PADI system.

Rescue Diver requires current Basic First Aid and CPR training and we include that in the cost of our course. If you have current first aid and CPR certification we deduct that cost from the tuition.

Let’s talk about costs.
In general Specialty Courses cost $150 to $200 each. The courses vary as to the number of dives required from 2 to 4. For theses courses you can divide the number of dives required into the course fee and that will tell you how much a single dive, for training credit, would cost. You can then budget your time and your money however you think best for you.

Some of the Specialty Courses do not require open water dives. These courses do not apply to the free Advanced Open Water offer since the whole idea of this program is to increase your experience in the water as well as your over all knowledge base for diving.

Our course tuitions do not include materials as most of the specialty courses do not require them. If a course requires materials, they would be in addition to the course tuition.

All equipment is to be provided by the diver. Should you wish to rent equipment you certainly can. If you pay for at least two specialty courses at one time we will give you a 20% discount on rental equipment for your courses. Prepay for 5 Specialty Courses and the Rescue Diver program and we will give you a 50% discount on rental equipment for your training. If you purchase your equipment while in the program we will give you a 5% discount in addition to the great deal we will give you to begin with.

There are many variations of how all this can be done. If you have questions just give us a call. All we need to know is what you want to do and then we can help you design your own program of learning and experience to meet your time and budget needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why continued diver education?
Open Water Diver is entry level scuba course in which you learned how to dive safely and how to efficiently solve problems in the water should the need arise.

Specialty courses and the Advanced Open Water course will introduce you to things to do as a diver.

Are you interested in underwater photography or video?
Do you want to know more about the marine environment and the creatures that inhabit it?
Do you want to know more about how your scuba equipment works and how to extend its life?
Do you want to discover shipwrecks and other history that lies beneath the waves?
These are just a few of the specialty and advanced topics you can explore.

Rescue Diver is another how to course that will greatly enhance your safety and confidence as a diver. This is the first time we will direct your attention toward another diver experiencing a problem. The few buddy skills that you learned in the Open Water Diver course are, in reality, self-defensive in nature.

Why is the Rescue Diver course so important?
The Rescue Diver course makes the diver acutely aware of equipment and how it can be used to solve problems in the water. The Rescue Diver course will help identify strengths and weaknesses and significantly builds confidence in divers for themselves and their equipment. Our course includes Emergency First Response training (first aid and CPR) and Emergency Oxygen Provider training.

What is a Master Scuba Diver?
Master Scuba Diver is the black belt of scuba diving. This certification recognizes a diver that has developed more knowledge and skills than the average diver.

   Open Water Diver
+ Advanced Open Water
+ Rescue Diver
+ 5 Specialty Certifications
= Master Scuba Diver

What is a Divemaster?
A Divemaster is a diver that has the skills and training to be the safest and best diver they can be. A Divemaster leads other divers and assist in the training of divers. Divemasters can also progress to become instructors if they have the desire to teach diving.
